Welcome to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 Affirmation.
At least two of our seminaries have their professors sign a confession of faith. Our International Mission Board has its trustees sign the BFM 2000. We as Southern Baptists want to have those in leadership accountable to us and to what we have as Baptists historically believed about the Bible and the truth found therein. All these actions are good things indeed!
Taking encouragement from these SBC institutions and a fellow Southern Baptist blogger, I have established this blog so that I and everyone else who wishes might boldly and unapologetically proclaim our affirmation of our denomination’s confession of faith. All who love Christ and claim the name of Southern Baptist are encouraged to ’sign’ our statement of faith by posting a comment in the AFFIRMATIONS post on this blog. A link to that post is found on the right side column of this page.
I hope this blog will be an encouragement to all of us as we endeavor to live out the truth of God’s word, to love Christ and His Church, and proclaim the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ – that He came to save sinners to the glory of God the Father.
